MTN BIKING IN CRYSTAL COVE REGIONAL PARK
Crystal Cove Regional Park is also known as El Moro. The trails here will give
you a good burn. Depending on the trail you and the conditions of the trail,
your ride can last anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours (or more). The trails
all start off at the same place and the ride into the hills are mostly uphill,
so your ride back is mostly downhill. The scenery is a bit bare when you
start off but it gets a lot better as you get deeper into the trails.
The southern trails run parallel to the famous PCH, which give you a nice view
of the ocean. You can cool down at the beach located on the other side of PCH
after you've had enough.
OK, SO HOW DO I GET THERE?
(Click here for a Road Map)
From the 5 Fwy, exit Jamboree and head south. Make a left on Pacific Coast
Highway (PCH). You'll pass through Corona Del Mar and into Laguna Beach. You'll
see plenty of signs on the way. Make a left on El Moro Road; there's an
elementary school on this corner. Or from the 73 Frwy, exit MacArthur and
head south. Follow the same directions as if you're coming from the 5 Freeway.
You can contact the Regional Park Office to get more information regarding
fees, available space, trail conditions... etc @ (949) 494-3539.
